Our Dogs

Carrie/Mai Tai“Gotham Mai Tai Moto” (aka “Carrie”)

Named after the character Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex in the City”, Carrie the dog is everything a poodle should be and more. A stunning, petite white standard with a coal black nose, she has her father’s (Mikimoto) looks and her mother’s (Twist) loving temperament. Born from royalty (see her pedigree that includes some impressive ancestors), this girl is all poodle, all the time. Her personality is as unforgettable as her high fashion looks. In fact, many of her photos grace the pages of dog magazines (see her ad for ProPlan Selects) and promotional materials for Purina. Carrie travels by plane, is a certified Delta Therapy dog, and visits hospitals and homes for the elderly. In the summer, she loves her house on the Jersey Shore and recently dyed her hair for the 4th of July parade--Little Miss Firecracker! (see photo of Carrie in red, white, and blue)

Our Champions

Twist“Ch. Classic Martini with a Twist” (aka “Twist”)

Twist is the foundation bitch for Gotham Kennels. Her first and only litter produced 2 champions in a litter of 7 puppies. Born in 2001, Twist is the daughter of Ch. Litilann’s It’s Martini Time and Ch. Classic Serenade. (see photo of Twist as a puppy) Twist is blue like her mother and her freshly clipped hair looks almost lavender in the sunlight. At only forty pounds and 22 inches high, Twist is a petite apartment-sized poodle who never ceases to generate “oohs and aahs” from passersby when being walked in New York where she has lived for the last 5 years. (see close-up of Twist) Like her daughter Carrie, Twist is a certified Delta therapy dog. Twist has worked with cancer patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering in the breast cancer unit. If it were not for Twist, I would never have made it through my bout with breast cancer. Twist is always happy to “put on her nurses uniform” for some quality time with patients! (see Our Puppies page for pictures of Twist's litter growing up).

Manny“Ch. Gotham’s Perfect Manhattan” (aka “Manny”)

Manny (also known as Mr. Big) was the first champion from Twist’s litter and a dead ringer for his father Mikimoto. After only 4 months in the show ring, Manny became a champion at the tender age of 11 months. Shown here with his handler, (see photo at right) Ann Rairigh, Manny was a stunning sight in the show ring. Manny is owned by George Wells and accompanies George to work at Purina every day. He is a gorgeous poodle who always gets noticed around the town, but the best thing about Manny is his personality. He is a sweet, shy boy who loves to play with other dogs at the Bark Yard (the dog park at Nestlé Purina). Manny is available for breeding.

Fabio/Miki Mojo“Ch Gotham’s Miki’s Mojo with a Twist” (aka “Fabio”)

Fabio was the largest puppy in Twist’s litter and the one that looks most like his grandfather Martini. At 8 weeks of age, Fabio was sent to his new home in California with Beverly Beck. Fabio became a champion at 2 years of age after showing in the very competitive West coast arena. (see photo at right) The unique thing about Fabio is his physique—tall at 26 inches and powerful with wonderful conformation—he is a champion through and through. Fabio is available for breeding.

Martini“Ch. Litilann’s It’s Martini Time” (aka “Martini”)

Martini was my first poodle. I searched throughout Colorado to find him. I had no intention of showing dogs until I met Martini. I agreed to show him when I bought him as a 6-month-old puppy. He was named after the Reverend Horton Heat song, and has inspired the names of all my dogs that followed. He loved nothing more than to go for a ride in the car (see Martini in the car), except maybe eating his doggie dinner. Martini did well in the show ring, finishing his championship by 13 months of age. (see Martini winning best puppy) He won best of opposite at the Beverly Hills Kennel Club show in 1998.

Martini has inspired many of my friends to buy standard poodles. He is the comedian of the family and the enforcer when something threatens the pack (see photo of Martini dressed up). He’s great with children as well and like all poodles, loves “his people”. Martini passed away in February 2009.

Our studs are available for breeding (Martini is only available for frozen sperm).
