Stonie is a gorgeous silver boy that Carrie met at the local grooming parlor. (see portrait of Stonie) Retired from the show ring, he was a young rising star whose real calling was extreme grooming. Now he travels to grooming shows around the country and the only job he really has is to grow his hair long for the next competition. (see Stonie at the groomer)

But it wasn’t always that way for this beautiful silver stud dog—Stonie was born from royalty and his pedigree reads like the “who’s who” of standard poodles. I knew by his pedigree that this was the boy for Carrie! Stonie’s great grandsire was Westminster Ch. Whisperwind’s on a Carousel (“Peter”) and Am/Fin/Dan/Int Ch. Maneetas Del Zarzozo Fuego Fatuo TP on his mother’s side. As with most line breeding, we doubled up on grandsire (of “Stonie”) and great grandsire (of “Carrie”) with Ch. Trelarken Turn Back Time (“Bama”) and both of them have Ch. Signature on File at Pinafore (silver) as a distant ancestor for color and beautiful faces (see pedigree page).
The best thing about Stonie is his personality—he is a sweet, calm boy—very unusual for a stud dog. I breed for temperament more than for conformation (not that Stonie isn’t put together well—see his photo) so I knew that the combination of Carrie (Miss Congeniality) and Stonie would produce spectacular puppies for both the show ring and for the home.
